Walter-Rathenau-Gymnasium

School building

The Walther-Rathenau high school in Berlin-Grunewald was renovated with the aim of reducing fossil fuels. To this end, the school's heating system was expanded to include an air-to-water heat pump. By using this modern heat pump technology with self-generated photovoltaic electricity, the state of Berlin is focusing on sustainable energy generation in the future, even in existing buildings.
